BIOGRAPHY

Munish Puri is the Riddet-Ag-Research professor in alternative proteins at the Riddet Institute, Massey University. He is an internationally recognized industrial biotechnologist, leading research in bioprocessing, precision fermentation, and metabolic engineering to address global challenges in food security, sustainability, and human well-being.

Munish’s current work focuses on cell factories for producing proteins, enzymes, and lipids; food biotechnology for functional and novel foods; and nanobiotechnology for enzyme stabilization and bioenergy. At the Riddet Institute, he is dedicated to developing sustainable, nutritious foods from underutilized resources.
