BIOGRAPHY

Antoinette Kazbar is an Associate Professor in the Bio-Process Engineering Group at Wageningen University and Research, where she focuses on downstream processing, integrated separation technologies, and sustainable biorefinery design. She leads a major GFI-funded project on cost-efficient purification of precision-fermentation proteins.

Antoinette also coordinates several national and international research programmes exploring algal and microalgal biorefineries. Her work advances green solvent extraction and techno-economic intensification of seaweed protein production, driving innovations in scalable, low-impact food ingredient manufacturing.
